The Varsity Theatre is available for groups up to 800 people. The Varsity's Balcony can host 100 people on select nights.
RATES
Venue and balcony rental rates are based on time of year and day of the week. Daytime rentals are always at a discounted rate from nighttime rentals. Please contact Brent McLellan by e-mail or phone at 225.383.7018
Quoted room rates include the following personnel, equipment and services:
· House Manager
· Bar Staff
· Door & Security Staff
· Chairs
· Tables
· Janitorial Supplies & Services
· Use of Sound & Lighting Systems
· Marquee (if requested)
ENTERTAINMENT
To entertain your guests at The Varsity, we are equipped with superb sound and lights and two video projection screens. Our stage can accommodate a band or speaker.
· If you wish to use our house D.J., an additional $340 will be assessed.
· If you wish to bring in a band or DJ for your event, we must coordinate with the band concerning our production capabilities. Please have your entertainment's contact information at hand when discussing the event with us. A charge for $400 is required to cover our in-house sound and light personnel.
· If you plan on showing something on one or both of our video screens, please inform us when you book the venue. We will need to coordinate on what kinds of media our video systems can accommodate.
THE BALCONY
If renting the entire venue is not practical for your situation, consider renting the Balcony in the Varsity Theatre. The Balcony has its own full bar, men's and women's restroom and can be configured to accomodate catering. The Balcony is available every Saturday night and select other nights. Standard rental is a four-hour block of time. All persons attending an event on The Balcony will have access to the entire venue. Some past events held on The Balcony have been smaller company parties and class reunions. Be sure to ask about The Balcony's availability. If the Varsity is not already open on any given night, the Balcony is not available for rent. A full venue rental will be available instead.
