Airborne pollutants such as particulate matter and environmentally-persistent free radicals, or EPFRs, are released into the air from traffic and industry, as well as e-cigarette vapor. LSU Superfund Research Center Director Stephania Cormier will present her research on how exposure to these pollutants can lead to a whole host of health problems, including heart and lung disease, pneumonia, and obesity.
